Brad
Brad Powell has been a plumber for 23 years. He is licensed as a plumber, drainer and gas fitter under NSW licence 182283C, which means he is allowed to do all three and, more to the point, has been doing all three for a long time.
He is the one who answers the phone. He is also, most of the time, the one who turns up. If you have dealt with plumbing companies where the person who quoted, the person who came and the person who invoiced were three different people who had never met, this is not that.
The family
Powell Plumbing is a family business in the actual sense, not the marketing sense.
Riley Powell, Brad's son, is a qualified tradesman. He did his apprenticeship on the tools beside his father and picked up a best third-year apprentice award in 2026 along the way.
Heidi Colless is the apprentice. She is learning the trade on real jobs, under Brad and Riley.
Michelle runs the office: quotes, invoices, emails and keeping the calendar honest. If you email the business, Michelle is who you will hear from.
How they work
Ring, and Brad answers. He asks what is happening, tells you whether it can wait or cannot, and gives you a straight price. For bigger jobs he comes out and quotes for free. For after-hours work he tells you the call-out cost on the phone before he leaves.
He does not push brands. Powell Plumbing installs all brands of hot water system, tapware and gas appliance, and picks the product that suits the house and the budget. No sales targets, no kickbacks.
Everything is done to the standard, tested, and where it is gas, certified. The business is fully insured. None of that is exciting to read, but you will be glad of it.

The ute
You will know it when you see it. It carries the jetter, the drain camera, the locating gear and enough parts to finish most jobs in one visit, which is the whole idea. If it is parked in your street, someone nearby has a plumber who turned up.
